چکیده

Abstract Chestnut bur is an agro-waste material generated in the chestnut production. It a tannin-rich lignocellulosic which might be promising raw for low-formaldehyde composite particleboard production when using urea–formaldehyde (UF) as bonding adhesive. In this study, characteristics of were analyzed to assess its application value panel. Five-type particleboards manufactured from mixture bur/poplar particles with weight ratios 0/100, 25/75, 50/50, 75/25 and 100/0, UF resin was used The effects addition amount on physical, mechanical properties formaldehyde emission studied. results showed follows: (1) low cellulose, hemicelluloses lignin contents, but high extractives ash contents compared poplar wood. wood had similar fiber morphology. (2) Composite board relatively good performances could mix With increasing content, decreased, whereas dimensional stability increased. (3) total phenol content 13.79%. phenolic substance burs react free formaldehyde. Hence, effectively reduced. summary, waste suitable can not only utilized base material, also natural scavenger

Properties of Particleboard Made from UF with Low-formaldehyde (E1) (TECHNICAL NOTE)

The objective of this study was to manufacture particleboard made from UF with low formaldehyde (E1) for use in indoor environments. The influence of UF in particles on the formaldehyde emission and its mechanical properties were investigated. The experimental results showed that the formaldehyde emission released decreased linearly with consumption UF-low formaldehyde- particle. Formaldehyde e...

Formaldehyde emission from low mass protostars

We present a survey of the formaldehyde emission in nine class 0 protostars obtained with the IRAM 30m and the JCMT millimeter telescopes. Using a detailed radiative transfer code of the envelopes surrounding the protostars, we show that all but one of the observed objects show an inner warm evaporation region where the formaldehyde is much more abundant (up to three orders of magnitude) than i...

Formaldehyde emission from particleboard and plywood paneling: measurement, mechanism, and product standards

A number of commercial panel products, primarily particleboard and hardwood plywood, were tested for their formaldehyde emission behavior using desiccator, perforator, and dynamic chamber methods. The results were analyzed in terms of the source of formaldehyde observed in the tests (free vs. hydrolytically produced) and the potential utility of the testa as product standards for boards in mobi...

Physical and Mechanical Properties of Particleboard from Bamboo Waste

This research was to evaluate a technical feasibility of making single-layer experimental particleboard panels from bamboo waste (Dendrocalamus asper Backer) by converting bamboo into strips, which are used to make laminated bamboo furniture. Variable factors were density (600, 700 and 800 kg/m) and temperature of condition (25, 40 and 55 C). The experimental panels were tested for their physic...
